Here is a collection of photos we took, the weekend we found our house:
Front of our house: ![]() Entry-way double wood doors: ![]() Formal dining room: ![]() Laundry room: ![]() Looking into the family room and kitchen: ![]() Family room: ![]() Kitchen of my dreams: ![]() Kitchen backsplash: ![]() Master bedroom: ![]() Master bathroom: ![]() Master closet: ![]() Downstairs powder room: ![]() Upstairs loft/toyland: ![]() Back of the house: ![]() Yeah, that's right. A firepit: ![]() Those are some of the better pictures. As you can see, the house is still being finished. Which was one of the high points for us, because it meant we could still pick out the flooring and add some of our own finishing touches. I went out on a limb and asked the builder if I could sub out some of the light fixtures that were already up for some new ones that I could pick out. I nearly wet my pants when he said I could, so I re-did about half of them. I was also able to select all faucets, fans, carpet and hard wood. We upgraded on the carpet and are also planning on having the whole house painted to avoid any post-move depression on my part. It's coming along and I get more excited each week, as Brian comes home from Arkansas with updated pictures. Look at me being all excited. Wednesday, September 25, 2013, 12:13 PM
Hey there! You look good!
I am beginning this blog as a way to capture our time in the natural state, Arkansas. Brian got a promotion (Senior Account Manager, Wal-Mart) and in October, we will be moving to a town called Rogers. Our Texas home sold in 24 hours with 23 showings and 4 offers. We headed to Arkansas after that and began the house hunt. After living in the Rogers Embassy Suites for one week (Nathan practically was offered a front desk job), we found the home that dreams are made of. ![]() We signed the papers, visited it 46 more times and took an illegal amount of pictures. It's going to be our home, and we'll be sleeping in it on October 15th. We'll be closer to our beloved families, they actually have trees in this state and I have a feeling its going to be a great place to raise a family. I better start liking Wal-Mart, because I'm going to be eating it for breakfast. Which is fine, because I'll be eating it under an adorable light fixture in my white wood breakfast nook. |
